Our tournaments use individual handicaps to help create a fair and balanced playing field for golfers of all skill levels. No handicap? No problem. Getting one is easier than most golfers think.

Want to get an official handicap? Here’s the simple step-by-step process:
Step 1: Join a GHIN-approved club or association

Step 3: Play and post at least 54 holes
You need a minimum of 54 holes total to establish your handicap. This can be any combination of 9-hole and 18-hole rounds.
Step 4: Enter hole-by-hole scores using the USGA GHIN app each time you play.
Step 5: Be ready to show your handicap at APN events/tournaments.
Official APN Event / Tournament Rules:
Our golf events and tournaments are designed to be fun. They’re an opportunity to meet great people, build relationships, enjoy the game of golf, and have a great time out on the course.
With that said, we do play by official golf rules—with a few simple modifications to keep things fair and enjoyable for everyone:
1. Clean & Replace
At any time, you’re allowed to pick up your ball, clean it, and place it back in its original position.
2. Improve Your Lie (Within Reason)
Let’s be honest—none of us are going pro. Course conditions aren’t always perfect, and no one should be forced to hit out of a bad fairway divot. You’re allowed to move your ball north, south, east, or west up to the length of a sleeve of golf balls.
Exception: This does not apply in bunkers or when your ball is within red or yellow hazard areas.
Outside of these adjustments, we follow all official golf rules (which can easily be found online).
Let’s keep it competitive, respectful, and most importantly—FUN.
Why This Matters for APN Events
If you plan to participate in APN Myrtle Beach tournaments, having an official handicap is a smart next step. It helps ensure a more accurate and competitive experience for everyone involved.
Our events are designed to be enjoyable for golfers of all skill levels, and using established handicaps helps create a fair format for both experienced players and newer golfers alike.
