Is APN a golf networking group?

No, APN isn’t just a golf networking group.

Our name—Above “Average” Networking—was created when we launched our Phoenix, AZ chapter back in 2019, and at that time, we didn’t host any golf events at all. Over time, members began requesting golf outings, and those naturally grew into a popular part of what we do.

Here at our Myrtle Beach chapter, we’ll have a stronger focus on golf and on building relationships and growing business through the game. After all, Myrtle Beach is the Golf Capital of the World.

But don’t be mistaken—there are still plenty of opportunities to connect outside of golf, including with the great people in our Phoenix chapter.

What makes APN different from other networking groups?

Great question! APN operates without the usual red tape you often find in other networking groups. We keep our overhead costs very low, which allows us to run things differently. With low annual membership fees, our events are more laid back, focusing on members meeting new people and building genuine relationships. Unlike other groups, you won’t find salespeople aggressively trying to close deals to justify their ROI.

Some networking groups have strict policies, like an attendance policy. Does APN have anything like that?

No, APN doesn’t enforce any strict attendance policies. Think of your APN membership like a gym membership. Joining is a great first step, whether you’re aiming to lose weight or gain muscle, but if you don’t use the membership, you won’t see results. It’s the same with APN—if you attend events, you’ll meet new people, build lasting relationships, and see the impact on both your personal and professional life. But if you’re someone who just talks about doing things without following through, that’s on you. We’re not here to babysit. You get out what you put in!

How often are APN events?

APN Myrtle Beach is a new chapter, so we’ll start by hosting one event per month and add more as the network grows. We took this same approach when we launched our Phoenix, AZ chapter back in 2019, and today we average 4–6 events each month.
